Children’s Ministry

The Abbeville FBC Children Ministry seeks to help children to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, and lead them to make God known to everyone they meet. Our goal is to inspire, encourage, educate, and guide children in spiritual growth.

Sunday night classes

Girls In Action (GA’s) is a class for our 1st-4th grade girls, and Royal Ambassadors (RA’s) is the boy’s counterpart. Our lessons, activities, projects, and crafts usually have a missions emphasis.

Grace Overflow (GO’s) for 5th-6th grade girls, and Pathfinders for 5th-6th grade boys, meet separately to do a Bible study on the book of James. The girls do crafts once a month, and the boys incorporate four projects into their study, as well as special activities like camping.

*The nursery is available upon request and during some special events.

Wednesday night classes

Music Friends is a music class for 4K and 5K children. The children learn about music through various activities and put on a short program once a year for the Wednesday night prayer meeting.

Emerge is for 1st through 4th Graders, and is filled with Bible lessons, crafts, and fun.

5th-6th Graders attend Equip, where the children enjoy snacks, crafts, and lessons to help them grow in the Lord.

Other

During the summer we put on a Vacation Bible school in the evenings, open to the community, where we offer food, music, recreation, worship, Bible study, and missionary stories. Our kids also have the option of attending several summer camps at the Look-Up Lodge campground in Traveler’s Rest, SC.

During the school year, we partner with South Side Baptist to offer a Good News Club after school hours at Westwood Elementary. Our music pastor also leads a children’s choir—open to our kids (grades 1-6) as well as community children—which puts on two fun performances a year in the CLC.

Occasionally we host community block parties—either in our parking lot or at the Livery Stable on the Square—with food and bounce houses to have some fun fellowship and have another opportunity to meet our community kids and invite them to church or special events.
